How To Build A Small Form Factor Gaming PC Set?

Building your own custom gaming PC is always the best option if you want to make sure every component works in perfect synergy with each other. However, there are times when external factors impose limitations on the choices you can make.

One example is not having enough room on your desk or workstation for a full tower PC loaded with high-end components and complicated cooling systems. They look amazing and are a blast to have, but they´re bulky and they sometimes feel like we´re compensating for something.

Small form factor gaming PC sets are becoming increasingly popular as modern components are being drastically reduced in size, and modern cases are designed with more efficient cable management features and airflow in mind.

What Components Does A Small Form PC Need?
When building a gaming PC set, components generally determine the size of the case you want. However, when desk space imposes limitations, one should start thinking backwards, which could narrow down your alternatives.

Fortunately for us, today we can cram incredibly powerful components inside surprisingly small and portable cases.

We recommend starting with a CLX Gaming Mini-ITX Scarab Chassis. They have several models that accept sizable GPUs without a problem. All come with tempered glass full-sized windows and built-in cable management features.

These cases also accept full-sized ATX power supplies, which are essential components for high-end gaming computers and give you plenty of headroom for future upgrades.

As for the CPU, we recommend the Intel Core i5-10600K. It’s one of the fastest processors in its price range, offering enough raw power for any game you can throw at it, and has great overclocking potential.

However, if you want to make sure your gaming PC set dishes out high, steady FPS rates, then you need to equip it with a powerful GPU. Today, I would not pick anything lower than a GeForce GTX 3060 to make sure my games look gorgeous and I don’t have any FPS dips during gameplay.

As for the motherboard, we recommend the MSI MPG B560I Gaming Edge Wifi. It´s a high-end Mini-ITX motherboard that comes with all the features you would expect from a full-sized ATX board.

It also has 2 M.2 slots for your NVME drives, and 4 SATA ports for any extra storage you may need.

You will also need enough ram to run your games and basic streaming apps. 2x8GB DDR4 TridentZ RGB sticks will give you memory to spare and a nice case glow.

Last but not least, you need an operating system. Windows 11 is our recommendation, as it offers improved gaming performance features, can run some useful android apps, and will take better advantage of the newer CPU architectures.

With this build, you will have a small form factor gaming PC set that will easily max out your favorite titles at 1080p resolution, and still offer room for future upgrades if needed.

Where Can You Find A Gaming PC Set?
You don’t have to look everywhere just to find the desired components. Find them all in one place at CLX Gaming. They have every component you need and they make sure everything is put together to perfection so you always get extreme performance right out of the box.
