How and Why TaylorMade Stealth Plus Drivers Can Transform Your Game

Heavier driver heads complicate your ability to swing faster and control the swing profile. Lighter drivers can be unwieldy and potentially less stable.

Traditionally, at least for the last twenty years or so, driver heads have been made of titanium, which is light and strong.

But there are limits to the lightweight performance of metals like titanium. TaylorMade, who broke the mold with the first metal drivers – the TaylorMade MetalWoods – has done it again by pushing the envelope.

This time with composites. Enter the Carbonwood age, with the TaylorMade Stealth Plus driver.

Here’s how it can change your game.

Lighter, Stronger, More Advanced
The TaylorMade Stealth Plus driver is made with a 60x Carbon Twist Face – which consists of 60 layers of carbon fiber sheets strategically arranged on the club face in a configuration that improves energy transfer and boosts ball speeds off the tee.

This makes these Carbonwood drivers lighter than titanium – up to 40% lighter – without making any compromises on strength and durability, all while improving energy transfer characteristics that can boost distance in all playing conditions and be used to fine-tune launch and spin.

Speaking of which…

Optimized for Launch, Spin, and Trajectory
These driver heads are also optimized for launch, spin, and trajectory, and offer a high level of customizability to players of all needs.

The carbon twist face features an innovative nanotexture technology cover that delivers the ideal amount of friction at impact to generate the desired ball flight. This nanotexture cover improves the “grip” between the the ball and face as the face strikes it.

The TaylorMade Stealth Plus drivers are also made with a sliding weight track consisting of a 10g sliding weight that can be positioned to perfectly fine-tune launch and spin characteristics.

Shaped for Speed (and Even Sound)
Looking at the driver head-on, or rather, toe-on, to be proper, you will notice its somewhat unusual shape, at least among conventional drivers.

It’s very slim, and somewhat boat-tailed, not entirely unlike a rifle bullet.

If there’s one thing that both rifle bullets and TaylorMade Stealth Plus drivers are designed to do, it’s push the limits of speed.

The design of the Stealth Plus Driver also offers what TaylorMade calls an “Asymmetric Inertia Generator,” which creates an aerodynamic advantage during the most critical portion of the swing – right before impact.

This design improves clubhead speed, and enables more weight to be positioned further back on the clubhead, which together improve MOI, forgiveness, and launch characteristics.

This helps to enable fast ball speeds and optimizes total distance.

The Stealth Plus is even optimized for that perfect sound: a product of design, shape, curvature, and internal ribs that stiffen the structure, delivering premium acoustics.

Customizable to Your Swing Profile
The TaylorMade Stealth Plus driver (and the Stealth) both produce a neutral shot bias – but there’s also an option for players that prefer a slight draw bias – the Stealth HD.

For the ladies, there’s also the TaylorMade Stealth Women’s driver, which produces a neutral shot bias, as well as mid-spin and high launch characteristics – great for players of a wide range of swing speeds.
