The Demko Knives Armiger 2: A Great Keychain Knife

Demko Knives are best known for folders, and Andrew Demko himself has been instrumental in developing some of the strongest knife locks of all time, such as the Shark Lock and Tri-Ad Lock, the latter which is featured in select Cold Steel Knives.

But not all Demko Knives are folders, and if you are looking for a fixed blade EDC knife on the smaller size, Demko makes a keychain knife called the Armiger that is an excellent option and shockingly affordable, all things considered.

What the Demko Armiger Offers

The Demko Knives Armiger is a tiny knife; but with a 2” blade of 4034SS that’s almost 2mm thick, it’s also surprisingly capable.

A 2” blade might be a bit short, but you’d be surprised what you can do with a blade of this size. For most general cutting EDC applications, it’s a great size, and the relatively thick blade stock only adds to toughness.

Also, the 4034SS, while it might not be considered a super steel, can raise a very sharp edge. It also is surprisingly corrosion resistant. The main thing is that it’s sort of a soft steel so you’ll have to get comfortable resharpening. But at this price (more on that in a second) it’s still a steal.

It’s available in more than one blade profile, but one that really delivers value, especially in a knife of this small stature, is the “Shark Foot” profile, which is really just a sheepsfoot knife. But what’s great about it is that it excels at most of what a drop point can do, but it has a much stouter, breakage-resistant tip.

The Armiger also comes with a Kydex sheath and a heavy duty clip, so you carry it on a keychain or rig it for carry in another way. It can also be comfortably carried as a neck knife or rigged for carry on a pack.

It has a thermal plastic rubber handle that offers excellent traction and a comfortable grip, and full tang construction, even in a tiny knife like this, offers toughness and reliability that are way out of its size class.

All in all, the keychain-sized knife is discreet, light, easy to carry and conceal, and still offers performance that you’d expect from a knife of much larger size.

But the best part hasn’t even been covered yet. It’s the price. Whereas most folding Demko Knives command prices of several hundred dollars, the Armiger 2 is only a fraction of that. You can get on online right now for just about $20 at River’s Edge Cutlery, making this a true steal of a knife.

How Businesses Cut Waste Without Cutting Corners

Customers ask about sustainability now, and not only in the checkout line. A donor flips over an appeal letter to check the paper stock. A trade show attendee asks whether the brochure in their hand is recyclable. Businesses that rely on printed marketing collateral face a fair question: how do they keep printing without filling […]
