About Magpul’s Ruger American Stock

The Hunter American, a Magpul stock compatible with short action Ruger American rifles, is a game-changer for those looking for an effective upgrade that will improve handling, expandability, and potentially even accuracy.

But what is it about this Magpul stock, or what features are those, that give it such an exemplary ability? Let’s take a closer look.

The Magpul Hunter: A Revolutionary Ruger American Upgrade
The Ruger American does one thing and it does it exceptionally well – it cuts costs. Now, granted, it’s a good rifle. Many would even say it’s a great rifle. But when it comes to the bells and whistles, well, look elsewhere.

Just look at the stock. It’s a plastic stock that really doesn’t offer much. The Standard stock has sling mounts, but that’s about it. It doesn’t even have the comb insert of the Ruger American Rimfire.

Now, as you might know, a rifle’s stock has no small impact on its handling and accuracy, not to mention its expandability. The Ruger American’s Standard stock really do too much.

That’s where and why a Magpul Ruger American stock can make such a difference.

First, it’s heavier and tougher. It’s made of reinforced polymer and features a type III anodized aluminum bedding block, along with high-strength steel recoil lugs.

This stock offers a better fit for the shooter, too. It is fully adjustable for length of pull and comes with four cheek risers for comb height adjustability, affording a far better cheek weld.

It also comes with a butt pad to provide some recoil relief, and it’s available in four colors: black, gray, FDE, and OD green.

Like the Standard stock it replaces, it also has sling mounts (although in this stock, in the form of dimpled drill points for QD swivels as opposed to standard sling swivels) but this Magpul stock also elevates expandability to an art form.

This stock features M-LOK slots on the forend, along the sides and bottom. This makes mounting shooting attachments, like bipods, side saddles, or other accessories, much easier. The Standard Ruger American stock offers no attachment points, although the forend ergonomics aren’t bad.

Need one more thing to love about this Magpul Ruger American stock? It’s made in the United States. If you need an upgrade for your Ruger American and the stock’s just not cutting it, get one of these.

Where Can You Get This Magpul Ruger American Stock?
Upgrading your Ruger American rifle’s stock can vastly improve adjustability, giving you a better cheek weld, superior eye relief, and better overall comfort and ergonomics that can make it possible for you to connect with targets that are farther and farther off.

Of course, it’s also nice that the Magpul Hunter stock for Ruger American rifles is also vastly more customizable and versatile than the Standard stock from Ruger. The Hunter American stock is a true drop-in solution for Ruger American short action rifles.
