The Accuracy International AXSR is one of the best extreme long-range rifle platforms that’s been designed to date, ranging alongside models like the CheyTac M200 Intervention sniper rifle and pushing the envelope of what performance looks like in an ELR rifle.
But that being said, what are some of the best reasons that it actually is a great extreme long-range rifle? Here are 7 of them.
- Suitable calibers
With extreme long-range shooting, much of what constitutes performance comes down to the chambering. No matter what features a rifle has, it could not make .22LR a great ELR cartridge. That being said, the AXSR from Accuracy International is available in several suitable chamberings, including but not limited to .338 Lapua, .300 Win Mag, .300 Norma Mag, and several others, all of which are renowned for their power, accuracy and overall performance, even at extreme ranges.
- Adjustability
Another huge thing that makes a rifle like the Accuracy International AXSR suitable for ELR shooting is the adjustability. It’s hard to make a rifle from the factory that fits every shooter, so rather than baking in static features, quality manufacturers like CheyTac, Victrix Armaments and Accuracy International focus instead on making rifles that are adjustable to the shooter, in the field, and often without the need for tools. This platform enables easy adjustments to LOP and comb height for a custom-like fit, regardless of conditions.
- A folding stock that protects the action
Another great thing about this Accuracy International rifle is that it features a side-folding stock that deploys easily, with no play, but which critically protects the bolt knob and action when folded. It also slims down the profile of the rifle for easier transport.
- Tons of attachment points
The AXSR is equipped with a full-length KeySlot rail system as well as integrated ARCA and M-LOK compatibility, so you can expand the rifle however you like with effectively any shooting attachments you want.
- A crisp, tunable, two-stage trigger
No good ELR rifle, in fact no good rifle, period, has a mushy trigger. The Accuracy International AXSR comes equipped with a crisp, tunable two-stage trigger that is reliable and which upholds a high degree of precision.
- A Quickloc barrel system
Another great thing about the AXSR is that it is modular and thanks to its Quickloc barrel system, you can easily swap out barrels to take advantage of alternative chamberings.
- An oversized bolt knob
The oversized bolt knob of this platform is designed to offer easy manual manipulation and cycling, even under stress.
Keep in mind that all of these reasons are excellent ones that make the Accuracy International AXSR an excellent ELR rifle, but they really are only the tip of the iceberg.
